A traditional stone tomb occupies a hill top in the Lamboya region of western Sumba, near the sight of the annual Pasola festival. Such tombs are a common sight in western Sumba, which is dry and arid compared to the lush rainforests elsewhere in Indonesia, and characterized by a rich traditional culture.
